Guru 4.1.0, 4.1.1, and 4.1.2 on Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7

Description:
The Guru 4.1.0,  4.1.1, and 4.1.2 were built using Install Shield 2009 Premier which did not provide full support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008. Follow these steps when installing on these Operating Systems.

Solution:

1. If you already have a failed installation, please uninstall Guru from the Progams Control Panel before reinstalling.
2. Copy the installation files to a folder on your desktop. If you are installing from a CD then create a new folder on your Desktop, and copy all the files on the CD to that folder.
3. Right-Click the 'Setup.exe' file and select 'Properties'
4. Select the Compatibility Tab and check the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' checkbox
5. Do not change the default compatible OS in the drop down.
6. Click Ok.
7. Right-Click the 'SQLEXPR.exe' file and select 'Properties'
8. Open the Compatibility Tab and check the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' checkbox
9. Do not change the default compatible OS in the drop down.
10. Click Ok.
11. Finally, right-click on 'Setup.exe' again and select 'Run as Administrator'
12. The installation should complete successfully now.

Note:
You may receive error messages or warnings during the installation. Simply skip past these to complete the installation. The most common failure will be the .NET 2.0 Framework. This is not required on Windows 7 and can be ignored.
