During the installation of Guru Server the SQL Server 2005 Setup fails because of MSXML6

Description:
During the installation of Guru Server the SQL Server 2005 Setup fails because of MSXML6. SQL Server 2005 setup will fail in some instances where Windows XP SP2 users applied a MSXML6 Hotfix before upgrading to SP3. This is known issue with Microsofts SQL Server 2005 Installer and not the Guru Installer.

The computer will have have SP3 installed for this KB Article to be applicable.

WorkAround:
You will need to follow the steps outlined in Microsofts KB Article #968749. I have added the relevant sections here so they are not lost if Microsoft removes this information.

To work around this issue, use the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to remove references to MSXML 6.0 Service Pack 2. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Cancel the Guru Installation and exit the installer completely.
2. Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
   http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/3/F/E3F51FFB-505D-480E-9F67-0DD3A9680DEE/MSXMLFix.EXE
3. Run / Extract the files.
4. First from the run .vbs file then run the packaged .msp file
5. Restart the Guru Installer.
