Description:
This happens when the 'SQL Server (MVSQLEXPRESS)' is not running and can not be restarted. When you launch Guru you will get the error message, "Guru has connected successfully to the Guru Server but cannot connect to the database."
Solution:
You will need to increase the permission for the 'SQL Server (MVSQLEXPRESS)' instance. Follow these steps:
- Run services.msc to open the services control panel.
- Locate the SQL Server (MVSQLEXPRESS) service in the list
- Right-click and select 'Properties'
- Select the 'Log On' tab
- Change "Log on As..." to 'Local System Account'
- Check 'Allow service to interact with desktop'
- Click Okay.
- Restart the Guru Server Service
- Start the Guru Client
